NOAA Selects SpaceNav for Advanced SSA Web Services

DENVER, CO – SpaceNav, a Colorado based applied mathematics and aerospace engineering firm, today was awarded a contract to provide operational space situational awareness software and services in support of NOAA’s LEO and GEO satellite fleet. SpaceNav’s SSA software solution consists of several different software applications designed to analyze non-traditional sensor data, perform automated collision risk management, and generate realistic predictive state and state uncertainty information for different measurement types. NOAA mission stakeholders can access various sets of analyses, reports and decision aids via a secure webpage. The back-end automated data processing leverages the Google Cloud Platform. SpaceNav Delivers Automated Collision Avoidance Capability to NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center

DENVER, CO – SpaceNav, a Colorado based applied mathematics and aerospace engineering firm, today delivered release IV of the SpaceNav collision risk management software to NASA’s Earth Science Mission Operations (ESMO) Project. SpaceNav’s collision risk management software quantifies the collision risk between space objects. The software generates collision avoidance maneuver plans, simultaneously targeting multiple conjunction events. Enhancements delivered in release IV include: automatic generation of multiple mission-unique constrained optimization solutions, utilization of owner-operator ephemeris and covariance, and automated space weather notifications. SpaceNav awarded operational collision risk assessment analysis contract from NOAA

DENVER, CO – SpaceNav, a Colorado based applied mathematics and aerospace engineering firm, today was awarded a contract to provide operational collision risk management support and subject matter expertise to NOAA's Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Project. SpaceNav will leverage existing technologies from their collision risk management software to help quantify and mitigate collision risks for various NOAA spacecraft. Specific updates to existing software include: realistic covariance generation in the presence of maneuvers, improved automated maneuver planning, and closer coordination with the JSpOC. SpaceNav will perform this work as a subcontractor to SGT under the Omnibus Multidiscipline Engineering Services (OMES) contract. SpaceNav’s collision risk management software quantifies the collision risk between space objects. The software generates collision probability and probability forecasting estimates to help establish the collision threat. SpaceNav awarded operational collision risk assessment analysis contract from JPL

DENVER, CO – SpaceNav, a Colorado based applied mathematics and aerospace engineering firm, today was awarded a contract to provide operational collision risk management support and subject matter expertise to Jet Propulsion Lab’s (JPL) Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 (OCO-2) spacecraft. OCO-2 will leverage SpaceNav’s web-based Space Situational Awareness (SSA) application to quantify and mitigate collision risks. Optimal collision avoidance maneuver plans will be automatically generated and delivered to the OCO-2 flight operations team. SpaceNav’s SSA application is deployed in the Google cloud computing environment.

SpaceNav to deploy an automated collision risk management system for NASA

DENVER, CO – SpaceNav, a Colorado based applied mathematics and aerospace engineering firm, today was awarded a contract to develop an automated collision risk management system for NASA’s Earth Science Mission Operations Project. The SpaceNav system will automatically download conjunction event products from Space-Track, generate various Courses of Action (COAs), and automatically deliver analysis products to the various mission stakeholders. The SpaceNav system will automatically generate an optimal collision avoidance maneuver planning strategy, subject to various mission-unique operational constraints. SpaceNav will perform this work as a subcontractor to Honeywell under NASA Goddard’s Ground System Mission Operations (GSMO) contract.
